Contrave (Nalproprion)
Contrave is a drug approved to help control food cravings for weight loss. At VMLY&R, I worked with the client for nearly two years to redesign, rebrand and optimize the site experience.
As the website experience evolved, we continuously evaluated site analytics – working to find more effective ways to guide patients through the sales funnel in order to acquire the drug online via telemedicine.
A critical point in the user flow is once the patient seeks to “Get Contrave.” At this point, we linked to a third party site. On that site, the patient provides health information and consults with a doctor in order to get an e-prescription – with the end goal of getting the drug shipped to them directly.
At Contrave’s request, we did a comprehensive competitive assessment of their patient experience compared to that of other TeleHealth sites. The goal was to gain competitive “best practice” insights in order to eliminate frictions and improve completion rates.
(October 2017 – July 2019)
Over the course of 4 weeks, I worked through the existing Contrave flow and six comparable experiences. I captured full flows and screens. Comparing all of these, I was able to uncover a number of insights. Along with my account team, I combined these with data analysis from our Analytics team in order to provide and present both qualitative and quantitative suggestions.
The deliverables included a clickable InVision walkthrough of each competitive flow, and a Powerpoint deck outlining the audit process, insights and opportunities.
As of Fall 2019, Contrave was evaluating changes with their Telemedicine partner.
